2022

Council of Europe, Report in women's access to justice : moving closer to full ratification and implementation of the Istanbul Convention, June 2022.

This report presents the content of an online conference held on October 7-8 2021 on access to justice in relation to the main European texts, but in particular the European Convention of Human Rights and the Istanbul Convention, both of which explicitly address the right to access to justice. The report highlights several advances made by the case law of the European Court of Human Rights, including the doctrine of positive obligations. In a second part, the report focuses on the consequences of COVID-19 on violence against women and on the possibility of access to justice. It concludes with 5 recommendations on the Next Steps for Ensuring Women's Access to Justice.
